The Rockwood is a custom made camper, built by hand (and relevant tools) that will fit two people. Scroll down to see the entire build from start to finish. The video above shows the camper on the road, as well as some exterior and interior views.

Work on the Rockwood begins…
January 2024
Kicking off the Rockwood Camper project, John began with a new frame.
It needed modifications to get it ready to build a camper on it.
This photo shows this new frame narrowed and reinforced. Now it is ready for wheels and tires, as well as starting to build the floor of the camper.
Late January 2024
The frame now has a new axle and brand new tires. These serve as the foundation for the body of the camper.
The next step was to install the floor and sides.
February 2024
Added insulation to the sides for cooler weather.
Temporarily installed the window to assess what it will start to look like as everything comes together.
Sides finished and joists installed.

June 2024
Pictured above, the exterior is ready for fiberglass coating.
July 2024
The camper required all this fiberglass plus 7 gallons of resin for application.
Durable tractor paint finishes the exterior. Windows installed, as well as fresh water inlets and 120 volt power inlet.
August 2024
Interior is going to have 12 volt lighting, a vent with an exhaust fan and 12 volt USB charging ports.
The interior has a couch that folds into a queen size bed.
September 2024
The interior has a sink with a freshwater holding tank, USB ports and 120 volt outlets for when you have access to power.
Every piece of wood in the interior has been coated with exterior wood sealer making it water resistant and easy to clean.

The first photo above is a closer view of the camper couch or twin bed. The second photo shows the bed pulled out to full size.

Local pick-up is free, of course. If you need The Rockwood delivered, John can travel to you in the 48 contiguous states at a rate of $2.00/mile. That will be handled separately from purchase.
